ABOUT THE TSTA

What is TSTA?

TSTA stands for the Texas State Teachers Association. As a TSTA member you belong to the largest student member controlled organization in Texas. The TSTA provides assistance and member advocacy, spread awareness and information to members, and offers leadership development in the educational field.

The Aspiring Educators:

We as a chapter are part of the District IV aspiring educators (AE) part of the TSTA. District IV consists of University of Texas El Paso, El Paso Community College, and Sul Ross State University. Our duties as a chapter are to lead, serve our community, and advocate for the educational leaders of today and tomorrow. We host several events such as conferences for all education departments here on campus and other campuses in Texas, we help those seeking to learn more about what goes on in and outside of classrooms by providing workshops for aspiring educators, and fundraise to help us give better materials and opportunities for students within our organization.

The Texas State Teacher Association-Aspiring Educators at Sul Ross State University is a student led organization that advocates for public education. As student leaders we are aware of the many issues that surround the field of public education. This organization focuses on making sure that students in the path of becoming educators are better equipped and better supported by there employers. As future educators we want to advocate for professors to be better supported to best prepare all aspiring educators to create great public schools for all children. Joining our chapter allows you to build relationships, serve your community, and learn to become a better leader!
